The Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR),

PICConsortium Partner of the Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN), is seeking a national consultant from Malawi to support the implementation of the CTCN Incubator Programme, conducted by CSIR in the country. The deadline for applications is Friday 10 November 2017.

A consultant is required to conduct an analysis of Malawi’s NDC and other planning documents to facilitate linkages and consultations with key national actors; to identify priority sectors and technologies for adaptation and mitigation; to support the organization of national consultations to prioritise a technology for the development of a technology roadmap; and support the work of the technology expert who will develop a roadmap by facilitating contacts with national stakeholders. The consultant will work in close collaboration with Malawi’s National Designated Entity, CSIR international experts and with the CTCN capacity-building team.

Expected deliverables include:
•    Final list of priority climate technologies
•    Final list of climate change stakeholders
•    Final agenda and participants list for national consultations
•    Final briefs on priority climate technologies
•    Final presentation including summary of each climate technology brief
•    Final report of national consultations
•    Inputs and feedback on technology roadmap

As part of its capacity building services, the CTCN created the Incubator Programme to support Least Developed Countries (LDCs) to strengthen institutional capacities and identify technology priorities to achieve adaptation and mitigation targets, with support from international technology experts. The Incubator Programme helps LDCs bring together key national stakeholders around the National Designated Entities to identify and prioritise specific technology actions for NDC implementation through the development of a technology roadmap.
