The Academy of Sciences (TAS) is now under the National commission for science and technology. TAS has been under the Malawi Implementation Plan (2021-2030) through the Ministry of Education to play a critical role of advising Government on Science Technology and Innovation (STI) policy development and implementation in order to address socio-economic challenges and promote development through NCST. It is dedicated to promoting excellence in natural sciences, mathematics, medicine, environmental and life sciences, engineering sciences, social sciences, and humanities, aligning its efforts with national development goals. The academy seeks to foster collaboration among scientists, provide scientific advice to the government, and contribute to the development of science education.

Membership Criteria:

The Malawi Academy of Science is now accepting applications for membership from individuals who embody excellence, commitment, and dedication to the scientific community. To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Must be a citizen of Malawi, passionate about contributing to the scientific advancement of our nation.
• Should be an active scientist with a proven track record of outstanding contributions to their field of science.
• Must be an individual who is committed to fostering the growth of the next generation of scientists through education and mentorship.
• Women scientists are encouraged to apply.
