This programme aims at enhancing economic development initiatives especially in Malawi through sustainable funding towards RSTI. There is inadequate resource financing and over-reliance on donor funding which has often been the solution but often not very sustainable because it has constrained the country’s ability to launch and sustain development projects.
This programme ensures that there is effective collection, management and utilization of various resources for RSTI development and application. NCST expects to actively pursue new, diverse and additional funding from national and international sources to finance RSTI developing a planning and Resource Mobilization Strategy (RMS). The RMS will assist in securing a sustainable and scalable funding mechanism, contributing to socio-economic development by aligning with the NSTIP and the Science and Technology Act to support Malawi 2063.
